Choosing to freeze your eggs - for any reason - is a significant decision and one that can feel overwhelming, more so when it comes to the cost.
We're here to support you on your egg freezing journey in whatever way we can. Our transparent pricing ensures you have all the information you need to move forward.
To understand the cost of your egg freezing treatment, it helps to know the individual steps involved in the process.
First, you’ll need to have a fertility assessment. For females or people with eggs this includes an AMH (anti-Mullerian hormone) blood test and AFC (antral follicle count) vaginal ultrasound scan. Together, these provide an accurate measure of your fertility health and your likely response to the medication used in fertility treatment.
For the egg freezing procedure itself, you’ll need to undergo a partial IVF cycle. This involves a two-week course of hormone medication to stimulate egg growth followed by an egg retrieval procedure under mild sedation.
You’ll receive a detailed breakdown of your treatment costs during your consultation. However, the breakdown of a typical egg freezing cycle is as follows:
Step one: Fertility assessment
AMH blood test and ultrasound scan... £460
Step two: Egg freezing cycle
Egg freezing (including egg retrieval and egg freezing)... £4300
Step three: Storage
Annual storage... £350
The medication you require throughout your treatment will be the only additional cost as this varies depending on your individual needs.
You can find a detailed price list for all treatments and procedures on your chosen TFP Fertility clinic page.
We know that fertility treatment can be a big financial commitment. To make our services as accessible as possible, there are several funding routes available for you to consider.
If you’re self-funding your treatment, our partnership with Access Fertility allows you to spread the cost through their repayment plans. This includes multi-cycle plans and a refund programme in the event of unsuccessful treatment.
These programmes have helped many of our patients save money, fix the cost of their treatment and relieve some of the financial stress involved with fertility treatment.
Typically, NHS funding is only available for egg freezing where there is a medical condition involved, for example, patients who are about to start treatment for cancer that may affect their future fertility.
Our friendly team is more than happy to talk you through the funding options available to you. Get in touch.
