Dr. Pedro Melo

Dr Pedro Melo is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine at TFP Oxford Fertility. He completed his undergraduate training in Lisbon and Paris, followed by specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Oxford. Pedro holds a Master of Science in Clinical Embryology from the University of Oxford, which he obtained with distinction, and PhD in Reproductive Medicine from the University of Birmingham.

Pedro is a Senior Fellow at the Nuffield Department of Women’s and Reproductive Health, University of Oxford, and he holds an honorary post at Oxford University Hospitals as a Consultant Gynaecologist and Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine, where he provides care to people dealing with infertility, early pregnancy problems, recurrent miscarriage and endometriosis. 

Pedro is committed to delivering evidence-based and compassionate care to women and couples seeking fertility assessment and treatment. Alongside his clinical work, he is an active clinical researcher with a strong interest in optimising assisted reproduction outcomes and early pregnancy health. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and received multiple awards, including the British Fertility Society Young Clinician Prize in 2022, and the RCOG William Blair Bell Fellowship in 2023.
