We want your pregnancy to be a time of joyful expectation. Prenatal tests give parents-to-be the opportunity to check - even during pregnancy - whether the child growing in the womb is healthy.
Prenatal testing is a term that causes anxiety for many women. Unjustly. Such tests allow us to assess the state of health of the baby while it is still in the fetal life. It is worth realizing that today's medicine gives the possibility to treat the child in the womb, and the correct and timely diagnosis is of key importance here.
In most cases (as much as 97%!), the results of prenatal tests are correct, and thus provide future parents with peace of mind and allow them to joyfully prepare for the baby's arrival. If any abnormalities are detected, an early diagnosis makes it possible to undertake treatment during pregnancy or right after the birth, but also to prepare for the arrival of the child, who might require special care or rehabilitation.
Prenatal testing should be done for every woman over the age of 35, because the mother's age is a factor that increases the risk of fetal abnormalities. This test is also recommended if the previous pregnancy was affected by genetic defects of the fetus or the baby was born ill. Couples with a family history of genetic disorders should also consider prenatal testing.
At our clinics, expectant mothers can receive ongoing obstetrical care. Find out below what is included in the individual examinations and how to prepare for them.
