Saran Rai

Experience

Having worked in IVF laboratories in Birmingham, London and Leeds, Saran joined Nurture Fertility in 2010 as a Senior Embryologist and progressed as a Deputy lab manager before my current role as Laboratory manager in July 2021. Saran introduced PGT-a testing at Nurture in 2019 and has trained 3 other members of my current team to also perform this technique in the laboratory.

What does a Lab Manager do?

Saran's role consists of taking care of my team to provide a proficient service, ensuring team progression whilst maintaining a high standard of care to my patients. Saran is a hands on lab manager and still enjoy the technical side of my role from egg collections, embryo transfer and blastocyst biopsy.

Why Saran loves her role

"The most rewarding part of my role is the patient contact I have to help support patient's through their IVF journey and regularly have updated from patients who have had successful treatment with us. I was involved in a large, multicentre study assessing the proficiency of AI and embryo selection for optimal success, the outcomes of which have been adopted at Nurture Fertility and all other laboratories across TFP Fertility."
