Dr Nick Raine-Fenning

Education

After gaining his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) and postgraduate Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists qualification (MRCOG), Dr Raine-Fenning was awarded a PhD in 2004 for work relating to the quantification of pelvic blood flow.

Clinical memberships and advancements to gynaecological processes

Dr Raine-Fenning is an Executive Member of the British Fertility Society (BFS), the Reproductive Medicine Clinical Study Group (RM-CSG), and Wellbeing of Women’s (WoW) Advisory Committee. He is an Advisor to NICE and the RCOG on fertility and reproductive surgery and is an advocate of patient and public involvement in research through PREPARE, a patient group he established in 2012. Dr Nick Raine-Fenning is a member of the Board of the International Society for Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology (ISUOG) and sits on their Web and Clinical Standards Committees, 3D Focus and Patient Liaison Groups, and leads the Reproductive Medicine component of the Gynecology Focus Group. He is also a core member of the Education Board, who he is helping define Minimal Standards for Gynaecological Imaging, and is leading a task force who are defining guidelines for ultrasound in gynaecology and early pregnancy. Since 2005, Dr Raine-Fenning has served on the Editorial Board of the leading acoustics journal, Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology, and was appointed as the Editor for gynaecology at the end of 2008.

Specialism in Ultrasound

Dr Nick Raine-Fenning is an internationally recognised expert in three-dimensional ultrasound and gynaecological imaging. He has shared this expertise with over 100 invited talks, plenary sessions and workshops. In 2005, he established the Academic Imaging Suite, a state of the art facility which provides a high quality clinical service and forms the base for further research in imaging of which Dr Raine-Fenning is the lead.

Experience

In addition to working at TFP Nurture Fertility as Medical Director, Dr Raine-Fenning is the Director of Research at Nurture Fertility and the research lead for The Fertility Partnership. Dr Raine-Fenning is an experienced surgeon and operates at the Treatment Centre in Nottingham where he sees NHS and private patients. He also works as a Consultant Gynaecologist and Reader / Associate Professor of Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham.
