Freezing your sperm is one of the most successful ways of preserving a man’s fertility. However, we understand that cost can play an important factor in making your decision.
That’s why we are here to support you in any way we can. Our transparent pricing provides you with what you need to help make an informed decision about your future.
Sperm freezing is a simple procedure that involves collecting a person’s sperm, then cooling and storing it for future use.
Initially, you will be screened for infectious diseases such as HIV and hepatitis C. This ensures that any affected sperm samples are stored separately from others. You will also need to indicate how long you would like your sperm to be stored.
An appointment will be booked for you at the clinic, where you’ll produce a fresh sperm sample. This is then mixed with cryoprotectant, to prevent damage during freezing.
If you are unable to produce a fresh sample, we can collect a specimen via surgical sperm retrieval. This may be recommended if there are few or no sperm in your semen.
Once the sperm is retrieved, it is divided into separate containers, allowing it to be used in multiple treatments. Whether you choose to store your semen to have children in the future or for donation, we're here to support you every step of the way.
During your fertility consultation, you’ll receive a detailed breakdown of the cost of your sperm freezing treatment. But here’s a rough guide on our pricing:
Step one: Fertility assessment
Semen analysis... £195
Step two: Sperm freezing cycle
Sperm freezing... £650
Step three: Storage
Annual storage... £350
You can find a detailed price list for all treatments and procedures on your chosen TFP Fertility clinic page.
Cost can have a big impact on your decision, which is why we offer several funding options.
If you are considering self-funding your treatment, our partnership with Access Fertility allows you to spread the cost over time. You’ll benefit from 0% interest on payment plans for up to 12 months, giving you the reassurance you need.
In certain circumstances, the freezing and storage of sperm may be funded by the NHS. You will undergo an assessment to see if you meet the eligibility criteria for funding.
