Nicky qualified as a nurse in 1999 before completing her degree in Midwifery in 2001.
Early experience with high risk pregnancies
Prior to joining TFP Wessex Fertility, Nicky worked as Midwife Manager at the Centre for Fetal Care at Queen Charlotte's & Chelsea Hospital in London. In this role, she worked closely with consultant specialists, caring for women with high-risk pregnancies and supporting complex fetal procedures within a highly specialised and often demanding environment.
Further qualifications and experience
After relocating to Hampshire to start her own family, Nicky continued her career in midwifery, specialising in women's health. Nicky gained expertise in caring for women with complex pregnancies and providing bereavement support. These roles further strengthened her commitment to delivering compassionate, individualised care and supporting women and their families through some of life's most challenging and emotional experiences. During this time, Nicky also completed a Master's-level short course in Ultrasonography.
How Nicky supports patients as Deputy Nurse Manager
In 2018, Nicky joined Wessex Fertility. As Deputy Nurse Manager, she supports the day-to-day running of our fertility clinic, working closely with the Nurse Manager to ensure every patient feels supported, informed, and cared for throughout their fertility journey. Nicky says she feels privileged to continue her clinical work alongside her management responsibilities, and she is continually developing her skills in areas including Nurse Prescribing, Fertility Ultrasound Scanning, and Embryo Transfer procedures.
TFP Fertility satellite clinics
Nicky also leads our Basingstoke satellite clinic, coordinating patient care, overseeing treatment plans, monitoring progress from treatment scans through to early pregnancy scans, and performing embryo transfers.
