Dr Antonios Vlismas

Dr Antonios Vlismas, Medical Director at TFP Thames Valley Fertility, is a consultant gynaecologist and fertility specialist. He completed his training in obstetrics and gynaecology at the University of Athens. He gained a wealth of experience through his work in the department of recurrent miscarriages and implantation failures at the University of Athens. He completed his PhD thesis on the aetiology of recurrent miscarriage and implantation failure.

Dr Vlismas has broad experience in the field of reproductive medicine. He has focused his career on fertility and assisted conception since 2007. He worked at the Centre for Reproductive Medicine at Bart’s Hospital until 2012, subsequently joining IVF Hammersmith working at Hammersmith Hospital until 2016 and Boston Place until December 2020.

He has an extensive background in the management of complex fertility problems. He passionately believes that fertility treatment should be tailored to the individual needs of each patient and is highly experienced in dealing with difficult cases of egg collection and embryo transfer. 

Dr Vlismas has authored several publications in peer-reviewed medical journals and has numerous presentations in international congresses.

He is certified by the British Fertility Society in pelvic ultrasound, embryo transfers and assisted conception. He is a member of the British Fertility Society (BFS) and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).
