Katarzyna Olszak-Wąsik, PhD

About me

Treatment of infertility has become my passion. I am committed to what I do with all my heart. In the medical profession, determination is extremely important but humility is as well. I understand my patients because I am a mother myself and I know how difficult, and sometimes long, the road to responsible and mature motherhood can be. I build good relationships with my patients, focusing on mutual understanding and trust, and we always make decisions about treatment together.

My thirst for knowledge leads me to regularly attend conferences and additional training courses to constantly improve my competencies.

I enjoy reading and travelling. I ski and play tennis. I have a cat and a dog at home, on equal terms with the rest of the family ;-).

Education and professional experience

I am a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice. I completed my specialization training at the Department of Gynaecology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology Oncology, where I have also been teaching students for several years. I defended with honours my doctoral thesis on male infertility. I have gained professional experience during internships and visits to gynaecological centres abroad (Denmark, Spain, USA, Belgium). I completed postgraduate studies in health care management and recently started a specialisation in clinical genetics.

I am the author and co-author of numerous publications and scientific studies.
