Our story

We started trying for a baby a few months before the planned wedding but the real efforts began during our honeymoon, exactly in July 2016. We came back and went on with efforts but, eventually, we made an appointment with a gynaecologist. Following the tests, two possible reasons of our fruitless attempts were considered: emotional blockage or my husband’s treatment for a chronic disease that shortened the lifespan of his sperm cells. A semen analysis was performed to exclude the latter cause so we continued with persistent efforts and waited for effects.

After a year, my wife was scheduled for diagnostic laparoscopy to identify or eliminate a possible reason of lack of pregnancy. It turned out that both of her fallopian tubes were obstructed so natural pregnancy was impossible.

Following a couple of months, we managed to make an appointment with Dr Jerzy Przybycień (September 2018) who, having seen all previous test results and without thinking twice, began preparations for the in vitro procedure. Dr Przybycień ordered many tests and made preparations for hormonal stimulation. My wife had been had a great fear of needles previously but the nurses at TFP Fertility Macierzyństwo had such an excellent approach that the procedure went quite smoothly. Moreover, in case of any concerns, the nurses were available at the office or by phone and they always explained everything in detail in a very professional way.

Ovulation induction lasted about a month. Then, the in vitro procedure was performed on the proper day (mid-October) and 18 eggs were collected (12 healthy ones). Six of them were fertilised; we resigned from the other ones in favour of couples in need, which we do not regret as they have already been provided to people who needed them. We realise we could be in the same situation, so we encourage other couples to help each other with this kind of problem. We received the best possible care both before and after the procedure. The Nurses were very understanding, explained everything and did their best to reassure us.

Five cells were successfully fertilised, but after four days of observation, only four of them developed properly. We decided to send the embryos for the PGS, which prolonged the transfer procedure by a month. The test revealed 2 perfectly healthy embryos. The other ones would not stay alive anyway after the transfer, so we avoided a lot of grief, pain and emotions.

The transfer of the first embryo took place at the beginning of December. Ten days later, my wife had a blood test which confirmed pregnancy. The nurses who informed us about the results were very tolerant and supported my wife in this difficult situation. We were supervised by the doctor for the next three months or so. When the chances of miscarriage during the first trimester were none, our gynaecologist took care of us again.

The whole process, from the first visit at TFP Fertility Macierzyństwo to the pregnancy confirmation, lasted 4 months. Over that period, my wife received plenty of oral and vaginal medications and even more injections. We understand that we could hardly succeed without them. At that time, Dr Jerzy Przybycień was very supportive, understanding and dedicated. His medical knowledge is endless and his attitude is a model one. The clinic staff were always smiling and being helpful, and we do not regret having put our fate into their hands.

With best regards to the whole staff members at TFP Fertility Macierzyństwo,

Future parents
