Costs and coverage

Costs per treatment

Many couples consider the possibility of fertility treatment if, after several attempts, they still don't fall pregnant. It is normal for them to have questions. Some are of an emotional nature, others deal with organisation and timelines, the extent of the treatment and the costs. On the TFP website, we want to inform you in detail regarding all questions on treatment in our fertility clinics. For this reason, we also offer you detailed information about the treatment process, the cost of artificial insemination and reimbursement of costs by health insurance companies.

Legal conditions for cost coverage in the Netherlands

Whether the costs for a planned child are covered, depends – among other things – on some of the legal framework conditions. To find out which conditions apply to your health insurance fund, please contact the appropriate health insurance fund. Examples of these conditions include the following:

  • The partners must be married.

  • The woman must be between 25 and 39 years old.

  • The man should not be older than 49 years.

Price list

As soon as your treatment or examination starts, a certain care product is opened. In practice, this happens when you have your first appointment with your treating nurse or physician. The care product will be closed and billed to either you or your insurance company when the treatment or examination is finished.

Cancelling appointments

If you are unable to attend any scheduled appointment, you must to inform us of this at least 24 hours in advance. A no-show without previously sent word will be billed for €40,-. After all, our fertility center will have lost an appointment slot. This is the ‘no show’ rate as decreed by the government.
