Annemarieke Otto

I am Annemarieke Otto, and I am one of the fertility nurses.

I have been working in TFP MC Kinderwens since July 2010, where I started as a nurse in the delivery rooms at the LUMC. There, I did a specialisation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology for Nurses. 

During that period, I regularly came into contact with clients who had undergone a lengthy fertility process. In particular, the intangible question of why some people get pregnant so easily and others not, and the influence this has on their lives, awakened my interest in this field. I find it special that I can guide people through this important period.

What I really enjoy about my work is the psychosocial support I can offer people, giving them the feeling that they are heard and seen. I also enjoy doing practical work, such as ultrasounds.
