Amanda and Layla have welcomed a very special delivery – their second baby boy and Simply Fertility’s first sibling!
Baby Max was born in August weighing 9lb 2oz, and now eight weeks old, is baby brother to two year old Jacob, both born after the couple embarked on Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), a process that involves inserting sperm into a woman’s womb.
The couple, who live in Silver End, Witham, are adjusting to life as a family four, and thrilled that their second fertility journey at Simply Fertility has given them their much-wanted second child.
Baby Max was born by caesarean section at Broomfield Hospital, after one cycle of IUI at the new clinic in Great Baddow.
We couldn't be happier. It's hard to put into words how we feel: Simply Fertility has given us this little family and we feel so very lucky.
Layla added: “We’re enjoying family life, taking Jacob to his play groups, phonics lessons and swimming and juggling everything with our new baby.”
Amanda said: “It’s great watching Jacob with his new little brother. We are completely over the moon.
“The whole IUI process is very straightforward. It’s less invasive than IVF because once injected into the womb the sperm is left to fertilise the eggs naturally. There are injections, ultrasounds and blood tests, but IUI is an easier procedure which involves fewer drugs than IVF.”
IUI is a good option for those that have good fertility, and is an option often used by same-sex couples and single women, who need only donor sperm to conceive.
