An initial consultation between doctor and couple in a pleasant atmosphere is of central importance for the further treatment in our fertility clinics. We would like to discuss your very personal concerns, possible diagnoses and treatment options for your infertility and clarify unanswered questions.
It is important for us to know how long the desire to have a child has existed. But other questions also play a central role in an initial consultation, such as:
Do you have to take certain medication?
Do you have or have you had infections, chronic illnesses or previous operations?
Has there already been a pregnancy (or miscarriage, etc.)?
Questions regarding the woman's cycle (length of the cycle and bleeding) can also be relevant for further treatment.
Our aim is to explain the various options for fertility treatment to patients during the initial consultation with one of our doctors.
Which procedure or treatment method could be the right one?
What do patients need to know in advance about possible hormone treatment or even egg retrieval/puncture?
We present the various treatment options and discuss the prospects of success of individual treatment methods as well as possible risks and costs. Individual counselling and care are always in the foreground and your personal questions and thoughts are also welcome here at any time.
During the first personal consultation with us, an individual treatment protocol is drawn up. If patients wish to receive psychological support, they are welcome to do so with us. In any case, it is important that you bring all existing documents from previous examinations with you for the initial consultation.
To prepare well for your initial consultation, please put together the following necessary documents:
Hormone status from the beginning of the cycle (2nd or 3rd day best)
Surgery reports of surgery on the uterus or the ovaries
Findings and records of previous IVF treatments
PAP smear
Spermiogram
A treatment agreement signed by both partners (see download)
A copy of the marriage certificate
For unmarried couples, according to the Austrian Reproductive Medicine Act, evidence (notarial deeds) of detailed advice on the legal consequences of medically assisted reproduction by a court or notary is required
Copies of photo IDs of both partners
Non-EU citizens: residence permit
